As Chief Data Officer, Danielle Crop is accountable for the responsible usage of American Express’ unique data assets to drive growth and differentiation for the company. She builds upon the data-driven success of the company and further strengthens the focus on data strategy, management and governance across the enterprise. 

Before assuming her recent promotion to Chief Data Officer, Danielle and her team have played a significant role in launching global, enterprise wide data platforms used throughout the customer lifecycle. In this new role, she leads a multi-disciplinary enterprise organization that is responsible for the data products and platforms that create, manage, govern, store and share our unique data assets. This includes our big data and core analytics platforms, data platforms and frameworks, system of record of customer relationships (C-360), APIs for third-party integrations, Amex for Developers portal, and products that support customer experiences and regulatory requirements (i.e. Open Banking).

Prior to this role, Danielle has held a series of multi-market roles of increasing responsibility within the areas of fraud risk management, merchant and cardmember demographics, payment and network data and experiences, and cardmember acquisition. Danielle has strong background in analytics, data management, modeling, digital experimentation, as well as Agile digital transformation and product management.

Danielle holds both a Bachelor of Applied Science in Quantitative Terrestrial Ecology and a Master of Science in Statistics from Oregon State University.  Danielle lives in Phoenix with her husband Chris and their daughter Anna.
